I started creating handmade books when I had too many screened pieces in my studio, I had to do something with them! A booklover by nature, I was determined to teach myself the art of bookmaking using my own screened art. Now I'm captivated by creating these one-of-a-kind treasures. My reperatoire includes scrap books, photo albums, journals, portfolios and books including text. Handmade boxes can be made for any book for that special gift. Incorporated into many books are handmade papers from throughout Asia.

Designs
What happens after the screening is done? Many techniques can be used to add depth to the pieces including discharge, overpainting, and overdyeing; and embellishing the pieces by applying foiling, leafing, beads, stitching and cord, to name a few. The specialty boxes are covered with screened tissue papers.

Wall Art
Living in Thailand has certainly influenced my designs. The beautiful wooden hangers from northern Thailand inspired me to create my own wall hangings from screened fabrics integrated with fabrics from trips throughout southeast Asia. Wall Art also consists of stretched fabric on wooden frames and framed pieces with and without glass.
